Hair Removal

Better than Laser Hair Removal, the IPL process uses intense pulsed light to gently remove unwanted hair, putting an end to routine shaving, waxing or electrolysis.
IPL treatments leave your skin looking and feeling smoother and silkier. That unsightly shadow in the underarm goes away as do those uncomfortable red bumps in the bikini area. This patented technology transcends the older, painful hair removal treatments to deliver long lasting results. IPL's wide beam treats larger areas such as the back, shoulders, arms, legs and face rather than treating one hair at a time, like electrolysis so the process is fast. Best of all, IPL treatment is a safe, gentle and effective alternative for hair removal.
By treating our clients with an Intense Pulsed-Light (IPL) system, we are providing them with:
  • the very latest technology:
  • the highest level of safety
  • fast treatment
  • maximum comfort and protection

  • Unlike electrolysis, larger areas may be treated at
    one time.
  • The treated area doesn't get blotchy and irritated
like it can with shaving or waxing.
  • There is less chance for pigmentation change than
    with a laser.
  • Less pain and discomfort compared to other hair removal treatments.
  • Only maintenance treatments are required after a
    series has been successfully completed.
  • IPL is effective on almost any area of the body

- What is the difference between Intense Pulsed-Light and Laser Hair Removal or Electrolysis?

First of all, electrolysis is painful. It is also a slow process. A needle is inserted into each hair follicle, one at a time. Then an electric shock burns the follicle to slow growth.
IPL hair removal treatments only use intense pulsed light energy. It is relatively painless and unlike laser hair removal, there are no possible, permanent side effects. Treatments can last from a few minutes to a couple hours depending on the size of the area being treated. IPL hair removal treatments are not uncomfortable, are fast and effective for permanent results.

- What areas can be treated?

The underarms, legs, back, bikini line, face and neck, all can be treated... fast!

- What are the treatments like?

Quick and easy! Most people perceive the procedure as a gentle "snapping" sensation.
And best of all, there is no down time!

- What should most people expect after treatment?

You will probably have some mild redness and tenderness shortly after the procedure, but it does not interfere with normal activity. We offer our clients post-treatment skin care to help with recovery.

- Why are multiple treatments required for hair removal?

Because hair grows in different stages, not all of the follicles can be disabled to the point of permanent damage in one procedure. With more treatments, more hair is permanently disabled. We recommend 6-8 treatments. The number of treatments you may require for the best results depends on the area being treated, the hair density and the growth cycle. Hair grows in three cycles and those cycles can vary depending upon a number of factors. Age, ethnicity, weight, hormones, diet, medication and metabolism all contribute to your hair's thickness and resilience. IPL slows the growing capacity of follicles in the growth cycle at the time of the treatment. Some follicles are permanently damaged while other hairs are simply damaged. Since some hair follicles may enter their growth cycle after a treatment, several treatments are required for permanent damage and optimal results.

- Is it possible that my hair may grow back thicker, particularly since I can only shave while undergoing treatments?

Our procedure does not make hair grow back thicker, darker or quicker. The opposite is actually the case. IPL treatments may cause hair to come back slower and thinner. Once you begin to undergo treatments, you will start to see some of the follicles fall out as the weight of the attached hair forces them out. Some hairs will take a long while to grow back and often will grow out much finer. The area is shaved prior to treatment so that the light source will only generate its energy to the darker pigmented follicle below the surface and not the hair on the skin.
